Your offer of employment must first be validated by the HRDC. Find out why is the caregiver without a job. Does she have references from her previous job? It is common misconception that if you find someone already in Canada, the process would be faster than if you hire someone who is still abroad. You must still get approval of your employment offer to the foreign worker from the HRSDC. The caregiver must get the new employment authorization before working in your home. It is illegal for the caregiver to work without a valid employment authorization naming you as the employer. The processing time for a foreign caregiver already in Canada is about 5 months in total. |
